The rumor going around today is that Sheriff Bill Smith has paid for Mary Anne Seamens son's college education.
I guess that was one of the perks for being a campaign manager.
I guess she will be at the next commissioners meeting to praise Bill for all he has done for her, I mean the county.
Now we know why she feels so strongly about Bill keeping the drug money.
No money for Bill = no money for his friends.

Does the name Gina Evanson ring a bell?
That's the gal who was the CCSO purchasing agent until she was suspended without pay last Tuesday -finally. Not fired - just suspended.
She's the lady who inadvertently did her Christmas shopping last year with her CCSO credit card. Just shy of $900.00 at Walmart, as I recall.
When found out, she wrote bad checks to Walmart to "correct" her error. She was outed a few weeks ago when Mike Fender (county finance director) investigated and found out that county was never actually repaid, in spite of her statements to the contrary. Moreover, last week he discovered that she grabbed the wrong card again earlier THIS year and has not paid back that illegal expenditure (think "theft") yet either.
One has to wonder how she got the idea that she could illegally convert county funds to her own use and get away with it.
