HAND SOAP
Yes they have cut the budget, and the lastest hit is handsoap. So now they have taken fieldtrips and handsoap away, what is next?
Read this email from the head school nurse.
Mrs. Anderson (school nurse) and I met with Dr. Bird this morning about the issue of soap in the restrooms. Dr. Bird feels that there is a safety issue with having soap in the restrooms in the student hallways. There is soap in the restroom by the cafeteria and in the gym locker room restrooms. Hand sanitizer is available to all students. It is carried to the restrooms by the teacher during assigned restroom breaks and it is either sitting out by the door or on the teacher’s desk so that it is available to the students at all times. The students are aware of this. We visited several classrooms to make sure that this is the case. As we walked through the school we did find one restroom without paper towels and Dr. Bird took care of this situation immediately. Realizing that some parents do prefer that their children wash with soap and water, Dr. Bird said that your children were welcome to use the restroom by the cafeteria.Dr. Bird and Dr. Stewart have both been in touch with the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and the latest studies show that hand sanitizer is just as effective as soap and water. I hope I have addressed your concerns. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Here is my response to this email.(I sent it to all BOE members and Capt. Will.
Gentlemen,It has been brought to my attention that SMMS does not have soap in all of the bathrooms. This is unacceptable!!!!!I have been told that when kids go to the restroom they are to use hand sanitizer when they are finished and that the sanitizer is kept in the classroom. What germs have been spread between the restroom and the classroom?Coach Stewart and Dr. Byrd say they contacted the CDC and they were told "hand sanitizer is just as effective". I contacted the CDC myself and was told yes that is true, if traditional hand washing methods are not available.(That is soap and water for those of us without degrees) So yes, once again the system changes things to fit their needs. Please explain to me what the safety issue is with soap.(see email below) Is it slippery? Yes, just like sanitizer. Is it flammable? NO, BUT SANITIZER IS. Ethyl alcohol is the same as the fuel you put in your cars. Actually gas contains 10% Ethylyl Acohol, and hand sanitizer has 60% plus. Now, the citizens of this county just handed you 63 million dollars, and we should at least get hand soap in ALL of our restrooms. The CDC also told me to contact the enviromental heath agency in our area and report this problem. Hopefully this email will fix the problem, but if it don't I will persue other means.Thank you for your time and I expect this issue will be fixed by noon today. My kids better come home and tell me they have soap.

I just spoke with a lady that had called Judge Williams number to ask for Dennis Perry's plea be thrown out and to grant him a new trial. Guess what? As soon as Dennis' name was mentioned, the secretary or whoever she was got very cold and told the lady she would have to send the judge a fax or write her a letter. AND THEN SHE WOULDN'T GIVE HER THE FAX NUMBER!! She was told she would have to write a letter..which the lady has done. Does that tell you there is something wrong with this case? You people in Camden County better wake up and smell the roses before you find yourself in the same position that Dennis is in. He isn't asking to be released. Just for a FAIR trial!!

Rick...wasn't there something in the news a few months ago about a little girl that became very ill and when they took her to the hospital, they found out that she had put some hand sanitizer in her mouth and this is what happened to her? Only thing is that this little girl died!!!!
