The Godley Files

The complete P.O.S.T record of Bob Godley. The former cop that thinks the whole county owes him an apology for his bad behavior.

There is a new blogger in town, who is also upset with this school system. Thank you Paul for standing up for what is right, and not backing down to the ESTABLISHMENT.

The Big Announcement

Folks,
I have several BIG announcements. It started as just one, but now I have several.

First,
I plan on reaching out to the Smith supporters and ask them to help bring open government to Camden County. No I don't mean just follow the current open government laws, I mean a complete open government. No more closed door meetings. No more "you can't see those records". No more "we have personnel issues to discuss", don't the personnel work for us.

Smith supporters are concerned about Steve Berry grabbing all the power. A complete open government would not let that happen. Everyone would be treated equally. If we had this during the Smith years, he would still be in office come 2009, and he wouldn't be in trouble today.Open government will keep all elected honest.

I am going to do all I can to bring this to Camden County. I selected a candidate for Sheriff that campaigned on an open Sheriff's Office, one point of his six point plan. I also moved so I could be in Steve Berry's district and urge him to get on the open government bandwagon. He answered my call when I asked the Commissioners to speak out against Smith, hopefully he will do the same this time.

Folks in District 1, you will have a choice this fall for your commissioner, pick the one that wants open government. Asked both candidates if they believe the peoples business should be done in front of the people.

I am asking the County Commissioners to draft a new County Ordinance making all of Camden County open to the people. This includes city government, the school board, and all these little boards that pop up to waste our money.

Open government hurts no one and helps everyone. Call or email your commissioner and tell them to vote for open government!!!!

District 1 Preston Rhodes e-mail lbrhodes@tds.net

District 2 Katherine "Nisi" Zell e-mail zellblnt@tds.net

District 3 Steve Berry e-mail writersteveberry2@yahoo.com

District 4 Charlene Sears e-mail cjsears@co.camden.ga.us

District 5 David Rainer e-mail drainerga@earthlink.net

Together, let's make this a county, the county that leads the way for open and fair government across the USA.

Other big announcements are not yet complate, but here is what I have been working on:

Did St. Mary's hand out contracts, before a vote was held?

Is the local radio blackout on two away games, just an attempt to make more money?

Will let you know soon.

I know for a fact that the game this Saturday is not being broadcast due to an Atlanta area station buying the rights to air all the games at the dome that day. It has nothing to do with the school system, K-Bay, or the football program. As for the other away game you are talking about, I have no idea, because they have more than 2 away games, so I don't know which one you are talking about.

Rick I am so glad to know that you are continually active in making Camden County a better place. I also hope you consider running for County Commissioner. Open and Honest Government is what Camden County desperately needs.

On items that you are working on how about adding to the list "What do the taxpayers get from funding the JDA." I, as well as others, would love to know the answer to this burning question. We need JOBS here in Camden County, the commute to Jax is draining my wallet.

What is the name of the radio station? As I called the GHSA, the governing body of high schools in Georgia, and they said no they have not sold the exclusive rights to these games. They said they are just normal regular season games. They did say the the sale of exclusive rights to these games would be up to the schools, so how much did we get for the sale? I can't find any radio station in Atlanta advertising these games. Gwinnett County will be broadcasting it on the internet at The games can be heard live at www.teamline.cc (enter code name Play-By-Play Advertising).

Other than that I don't see it. So please let us all know what radio station it is.

I will continue to dig.

Rick,

I believe it is 790AM the Zone, here is a link.

http://www.790thezone.com/

I think the Corky Kell Classic has the rights to the game, not GHSA, and I would not belive a thing the GHSA tells you, the have a bad record of backhanded deals. The Corky Kell Classic raises funds for scholorships, (sp) so I guess it would benifit their non-profit to sell the rights. Hope we will be able to hear the game online at least. Again, I don't think anyone in Camden has a hand in this, or is profiting from it.

Rick,

I would still be interested in knowing the second game you are talking about. I will do some digging myself if I know what game it is.

Thanks for the info and yes continue to dig. I will call 790 the zone, and shoot an email to Coach Herron.

But I don't think your right on the rights to the game, the GHSA is just like the NFL. They are out for every dime they can get. But it will all come out keep digging.

Rick,

You should call 912-269-1701 he will give you all the information you need in reference to the radio situation/selling of the rights. He is directly involved in this situation and may have all of the answers that you are digging for. I have already informed him that you will be calling.

For those wondering, I just got off the phone with 790 the zone in Atlanta, and YES they did but the rights to the game, The question is how much did Camden receive from The Zone? I think we deserve to know, what do you think? Can anyone get me the e-mail for Coach Herron?

I am sure it is jherron@camden.k12.ga.us

It could be very possible Camden doesn't receive anything from the sale of the radio rights. The organizers of the Corky Kell Powerade Classic could very well keep those revenues. After all it is a put on as a fund raiser for that group. Camden agreed to play in the classic but the organizers own any and all rights to the Classic. I believe the only revenue that is split up is the ticket sales.

Did St. Mary's hand out contracts, before a vote was held?

What is this about? Camden Commentary has some interesting stuff about the going on in St. Marys.

Please Call Judge Williams

I just spoke with a lady that had called Judge Williams number to ask for Dennis Perry's plea be thrown out and to grant him a new trial. Guess what? As soon as Dennis' name was mentioned, the secretary or whoever she was got very cold and told the lady she would have to send the judge a fax or write her a letter. AND THEN SHE WOULDN'T GIVE HER THE FAX NUMBER!! She was told she would have to write a letter..which the lady has done. Does that tell you there is something wrong with this case? You people in Camden County better wake up and smell the roses before you find yourself in the same position that Dennis is in. He isn't asking to be released. Just for a FAIR trial!!
