What could be so bad-that it would destroy his reputation?
Why is Smith responding to a federal investigation? If the feds wanted those records sealed they would have told the bank. This is so Bill Smith. Just release the evidence that could prove you right, Sheriff.
Sheriff stand up and proudly release those records, prove all of these people wrong.

If my reputation was that I was a lying, stealing, cheating adulterer, I would pray for someone to "destroy" it.
