There is some confusion over my blog so I will clear them up for you.
First of all, This is my blog not yours. I can say whatever I want, and so can you. I do not bring personal issues up, and I don't expect you to either. This blog is about elected official and their job performances, not what they did on Friday night at the bar. I could care less what they do in their personal lives.
Second, You can post anonymously as long as you are talking about the issue. I will not allow my private life or that of any other person to be discussed on this site. Any one who posts personal stuff anonymously that is distasteful will be removed. You do have a right to your opinion and that will not be removed even if it is different from mine. I WILL NOT post your IP address like I did the Commissioners. This is a government computer so it is public knowledge that any one can find out.
Third, I want your opinion. This is the reason for this blog. It gets the community involved in politics since Camden County refuses to be run by the people. This is our county not the 5 commissioner, 1 sheriff, and 5 school board members. Our County. Your opinion matters to me and to some others in the county, but as I have shown some in county could care less what the public think. Going as far as to limit our right to free speech.
I would like to thank those of you who have commented both publicly and by e-mail. I enjoy hearing what other people think about the things that go on in this county. Things will not change if YOU don't stand up and demand it.
Thank you and may God bless you.
"The people of this County do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created." ***The views expressed on this blog are the opinions of the individual that wrote them.

Please Call Judge Williams
Tell her to throw out the plea deal in the Perry case,
And grant him a new fair trial.

I just spoke with a lady that had called Judge Williams number to ask for Dennis Perry's plea be thrown out and to grant him a new trial. Guess what? As soon as Dennis' name was mentioned, the secretary or whoever she was got very cold and told the lady she would have to send the judge a fax or write her a letter. AND THEN SHE WOULDN'T GIVE HER THE FAX NUMBER!! She was told she would have to write a letter..which the lady has done. Does that tell you there is something wrong with this case? You people in Camden County better wake up and smell the roses before you find yourself in the same position that Dennis is in. He isn't asking to be released. Just for a FAIR trial!!

I have had what I feel may be a similar experience to what you’re referring. Unfortunately in my case I’ve had to start blocking some of my blogs from the general public due to this. It’s really sad that in this, the 21st century, people can’t be more open minded about internet publishing. People who post anonymously are cowards. What these people don’t understand is that if they really wanted to get under my skin (which is usually the case), don’t post anonymously, tell me who you are, then I can assume you’re a real person rather than an internet anomaly. Additionally, when people post anonymously their point is no longer valued, it is automatically dismissed as childish venting by those of us who have the mental capacity to write our actual names. Mr. Rogers, I can safely say from reading your comments on Sandy’s blog that I don’t agree with you, or, him, or a lot of the other people commenting on numerous issues. I would chalk it up to a difference in political interests, however, I can also say with absolute certainty that blogs are intended to allow individualism and that is something I will defend always…
Ms. Hamilton,
We might not agree on the issues, but agree everyone has a right to their opinion whether they are wrong or right. But they don't have a right to drag peoples personal lives into a political discussion. It's like this County Commissioner, they could not answer the question so they decide to attack my personal life. That's real professional. And now they are in cover up mode. But I will tell you I will have the Board of Commissioners confirm who posted that, even if I have to take them to court. I will not sue the county for money because I don't think the taxpayers of the county deserve to lose money just because one district in this county chose a jackass to be their commissioner.
Thanks again and keep posting
Yeah, a school police blog! I am just finding this thanks to Mrs. Hamiltons Myspace blog and I am eager to begin. While not on the subject of blog etiquette it is most certainly an issue for school policing.
I recently attended a dance at St. Marys Elementary school. I would like to display some of the lyrics found in the songs that were played.
"Forget about the game I'm a spit the truth, I won't stop till I get em in they birthday suits.
So gimmie the rhythm and it'll be off with they clothes, then bend over to the front and touch your toes." Ushers "Yeah"
"Strut my stuff and yes I flaunt it
Goodies make the boys jump on it
No I can't control myself" Ciara's "One, Two, Step"
I wish I could say that this was all of it but it was song after song of very inappropriate lyrics. The week after this my neice came home singing a song that was played in the gym while they had class, some of its finer lyrics are:
"smack that, all on the floor,
smack that, give me some more,
smack that, 'till you get sore
smack that, oooh."
It then goes on to say:
"Pedicure, manicure, kitty cat claws.
The way she climbs up and down them poles.
Lookin' like one of them Pretty Cat Dolls.
Tryna hold my woody back through my drawers" Akon's "Smack That"
I have found in the past that I get a "oh my gosh, this is horrible we would have never let that happen if we knew what they were saying." That is almost verbatim from a previous conversation held.
I am wondering when apologies stop and accountablity starts. These are children under the age of at most 12. I don't know what is sadder, the fact that these songs were played or the fact that so many of the children knew the lyrics word for word. How can we hold our school officials responsible when parents aren't being.
I am tired of feeling like the "red flag" mom because I hold the other adults involved in my childs life to a high standard.
Agreed. Your personal life should have been left that way…personal. In any discussion/letter/blog proper etiquette would point towards remaining on topics only relating to the matter in which is being discussed. Quite frankly however, we can never forget… all is fair in love and politics. I learned that at an extremely young age and is a lesson I will not soon forget. And, just so you know, from my point of view that comment that was posted about you by whomever, didn’t phase me from the issue one bit. When I read it I just assumed it was some random person who didn’t like you making up lies under a false name. You’ve seen all those commercials on television when elections roll around and of course people intertwine personal lives with political ones, that’s the way our society is bred. I’m not defending it, and I certainly would like to think that in our community we’ve evolved past it. The sad truth is as long as people are jealous of others (or insecure in themselves) they will do whatever they feel is necessary to belittle, stigmatize and harass others.
okay, that's funny Rhonda because we both commented at pretty much the same time there... I guess they figured because the song gets played on the radio it's okay for the dance. You're right though, parents and school officials together have the responsibility to ensure that children are being exposed to age sensitive material at the appropriate times. I really can't say too much more on the subject because I don't have school age children however, when the time comes I sure hope I can have the convictions that you do.
Yes, yes we did. I heard through the early morning walk grapevine about the comment left and the personal information exposed. It saddens me because as a woman I tend to vote for women as long as there political agenda's are as in line as can be with mine. I am not saying it was a women I am just saying as hard as it is for women to get into respected positions like that it infuriates me that anyone (and by anyone I mean any women) would jeopordize their integrity like that therefor putting just another rung on the ladder for other women to climb. But like I said, I don't know who did it and I think it is well, just silly.
Any idea why my comment on Sandy’s blog was deleted? All it said was I thought the ad was sufficient in the T&G for the County Manager position. Yikes..
Marcy,
Mr. Feller will not delete any post. He will review them before posting them as he was a Commissioner when he started his blog, and did not want nasty stuff being posted to his blog. Which I think as a county commissioner that is a good idea. But your post will make it. It just takes time.
And thanks again for getting involved.
Rhonda,
This is an excellent statement:
I am tired of feeling like the "red flag" mom because I hold the other adults involved in my child's life to a high standard.
I feel the same way. And then when you do hold them to that high standard they blame everyone else but themselves. Let me ask you if the resource officer at your kids school threaten to caring them off to Waycross to the juvenile detent. center would that make you mad and would you start a blog because of it? That's what happened to me and that is why we have this blog today
I know the term "good ol' boy" network get thrown around alot when we talk about our county gov. but I would argue that the network is just as strong in the school system. Case in point - A certain city employee's wife is a sub for the school system - she was removed from a class for screaming at the children til they were in tears. When I called the school board about this I was told she absolutly will not be aloud back in a class room in that was what had happened. Well, it was verified and sure enough she is still teaching in the system. Not at the school of incident, but at all the other schools. Principles are politicians, plain and simple. they ride the fence never really solving anything.
