"The people of this County do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created." ***The views expressed on this blog are the opinions of the individual that wrote them.

This man was setup.
Which one?
Dennis Perry
Butch Kennedy was rewarded (for framing Perry)by giving him a job in the Tax Commissioners office. He remains there till this day. Beth Soles was rewarded (for keeping quiet about the Brinson murder) by giving her a job in the Tax Commissioners office. She remains there till this day.
How can a guy with no homicide experience be hired to handle a case such as this? Why was he solicited for this position when he was not a certified police officer?
Clean the slate in "08"
I don't think Butch was rewarded. As far as I know, Butch quit the CCSO because of the controversy. Rather than lose his pension, he went to work in the Tax office.
As someone who spent over 20 years in the CG I can't figure out exactly what Bundy did. It sounds like he might have been a Boatswainmate who had Master at Arms duties. Master at Arms, usually boatswain mates, were responsible for the cleanliness of the ship or station. They handed out clean linen, monitored the chow lines, watched over cleaning parties, etc. I can assure you that he did not investigate crime back then other than trying to determine who might have taken a piece of some one elses clothing. Any crimes committed on a CG installation during that time period were turned over to Coast Guard Intelligence. I know that is an oxymoron, but my statement is true. USCG 1957-1977
That sounds about right for him. Latrine inspector! He's so full of it, he wouldn't have any trouble at all recogonizing it!
Butch Kennedy did not frame "Dennis Perry". That was done many years after Butch left the Sheriff's Office. He was not rewarded a job at the Tax Commissioners office. He was hired by the Tax Commissioner because she was looking for a Certified Officer to handle the sale of property in the courthouse sales. Brenda Wainright is and has always been her own person and would have never hired anyone because someone told her to. Besides, Bill Smith hated Butch Kennedy because he was not one of his yes men and was not hired by Bill Smith, he was hired by Jimmy Middleton. Bill would have never helped Butch out by getting him a job anywhere. Butch was an excellent investigator, and would have never stooped so low as to frame someone on a murder charge. Maybe the person who put this comment on here about Butch should go by the Tax Commissioners office someday and have a talk with Butch and ask him some questions about what went on and he just might tell you. There is certainly no love lost between Butch Kennedy and Bill Smith.
I certainly agree with you. Butch is a good man.
