Welcome To The New Real School Police

My newest blog, since I have more time on my hands now!!!

The Godley Files

http://thegodleyfiles.blogspot.com/

The complete P.O.S.T record of Bob Godley. The former cop that thinks the whole county owes him an apology for his bad behavior.

There is a new blogger in town, who is also upset with this school system. Thank you Paul for standing up for what is right, and not backing down to the ESTABLISHMENT.

This Is What You Can Say And What You Can't

From the agenda of the Camden County School Board:

VII. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

a. Public Participation
Meetings of the Board of Education are structured to allow the Board to conduct its public business. Meetings of the Board are open to the public but are not to be confused with public forums.

1. The Board Chair will ask anyone present who wishes to address the Board to stand, state your name, and the subject you are addressing.

2. If more than one person wishes to address the Board on the same subject, you will be asked to select a spokesman for the subject.

3. The spokesman will be given five (5) minutes to address the Board. There are three subjects which cannot be addressed in an open public meeting:

1. Individual personnel information that deals with an employee's job performance,
2. Any matter related to an individual student's discipline or grade records, and
3. Any matter related to special education in which individual students may be identified.

The Board will not respond to comments or questions posed by citizens in their presentations, but will take those comments and questions under advisement.

Any board member that can tell me what law gives you the right to tell me what I can say, Please email me that law.

So what you can say at a board meeting is how great these people are. How wonderful they are, OH they are such great people. The same stuff the followers of HITLER said about HITLER.

Sooner or later any political conversation is going to talk about Hitler and the Nazi's. So Godwin is really not that smart. It's a no brainer and anyone could have figured it out.

The point is, not every political conversation should talk about Hitler and the Nazis. By comparing things that are in no way tanamount to genocide to Nazism, you are minimizing the suffering and murder of over 6 million. Surely, you can think of better anaologies than pulling out the Hitler card.

He started out suppressing free speech and than it went out of control after that. We as Americans let him go about suppressing not only Jews but Germans as well. If we would have spoken out earlier maybe we as Americans could have stop many of those death. But we as Americans decided to stay mute.

It's hard to refute such generalization and oversimplification. Not because it in anyway resembles a real argument, but because it doesn’t address the point at hand.

Hitler and the Nazi party came to power because of Anti-Semitism, and overzealous Nationalism. Perhaps that would have been the time for America to take notice.

At any rate, I see no possible train of logic in which the school board policy will lead to a World War, something Hitler’s many policies did. Hitler and Nazism are not horror movie monsters. They should not be thrown around nonchalantly; lest we forget the real horror.

I am not arguing about whether the Nazi’s suppressed free speech. Anyone with an 8th grade education knows they did. I also know that the Camden County School Board has every right to protect itself against slander and libel lawsuits, which might occur if individual teachers or students were allowed to be lambasted in an open meeting. That act of protecting itself and its employees and students has no direct correlation with Nazism.

What I am saying is that by comparing the situation at hand to Nazism you are doing only two things.

1. Discrediting yourself: If your arguments have any merit, they should be able to stand on their own without appealing to propaganda techniques.

2. Devaluing the experience of those who lived through the Holocaust.

OK I agree with you and I will not use the Nazi card again, except I don't understand this:
I also know that the Camden County School Board has every right to protect itself against slander and libel lawsuits, which might occur if individual teachers or students were allowed to be lambasted in an open meeting. If a parent bring something up at a so called open meeting, How is the school board going to be sued for slander. You can only sue that person. The school board must investigate these things to ensure the safety of our children. Just look at all the teachers that have sex with kids, we must know what goes on in these schools!!!!!

R. Kaiser,
Can you tell me what law gives them the right to tell me what I can and can't say. That was the subject of this post which you conveniently bypassed. I see that you are from Johnson City TN. Do you live there or here in Camden County? Just curious.

I will take your no answer as you agreeing with me. As soon as I put you back on topic you stop talking. Amazing.

I just spoke with a lady that had called Judge Williams number to ask for Dennis Perry's plea be thrown out and to grant him a new trial. Guess what? As soon as Dennis' name was mentioned, the secretary or whoever she was got very cold and told the lady she would have to send the judge a fax or write her a letter. AND THEN SHE WOULDN'T GIVE HER THE FAX NUMBER!! She was told she would have to write a letter..which the lady has done. Does that tell you there is something wrong with this case? You people in Camden County better wake up and smell the roses before you find yourself in the same position that Dennis is in. He isn't asking to be released. Just for a FAIR trial!!
